Flinders Ranges, SA.
Here a Ghost Gum stands proud guarding a little gorge we found deep in the West MacDonnell Ranges in the Northern Territory.
We based camp here for a few days exploring gorges and waterways and these Ghost Gum trees lining the steep rocky slopes were dramatic and stark, as if it say these are the living tendrils protruding from the bones of the earth.
I remember this afternoon well as what makes this particular photo is the approaching storm. The light makes the shot work and I remember the subsequent downpour and the freshness it brought upon a weathered landmass.
